Sunset Tower Hotel is located in West Hollywood. It is close to many of the city’s business organizations and tourist attractions such as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, CBS Studios, the Grove, and for nightlife enthusiasts can visit the popular Whiskey a Go Go nightclub. The 15-story hotel building was designed in 1929 by architect Leland Bryant.
It is built in Hollywood’s distinctive Art Deco style. The hotel opened its doors to the public in 1931. It quickly gained popularity among the rich and famous. Movie stars such as Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Claudette Colbert, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, producer and director Howard Hughes lived in the hotel. And actor John Wayne, living in the hotel, one morning brought a live cow to the room and explained this act by the fact that he needed it in case his guests wanted milk with their coffee. More recently, the Sunset Tower Hotel has been renovated. There are 74 rooms located in the hotel. All rooms have ceiling to floor windows with a magnificent view of Los Angeles.
